Miscellaneous
I'll admit it, I'm behind in my reading, which is why I just discovered this phenomenal commentary in last week's Science Times. Graduate students of the sciences will devour the whole issue, but this article is particularly relevant: Rousing Science Out of the Lab and into the Limelight. It speaks of the need for scientists to climb out of their ivory towers and converse with journalists and the public about their research. The premise is that science is complicated and scientists often lament that journalists never "get it right." It's our responsibility as scientists to remember that we are also citizens; our work holds policy implications and it's our responsibility to make it accessible to the world.
Passion: What drives Science? I pondered this question on my personal blog the other day.
