    THE CAMPUSES
    DePaul's six campuses are strategically located throughout the metropolitan Chicago area.

    LINCOLN PARK A quadrangle and arced gateway anchor this traditional-style campus, which is home to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and the schools of Education, Music and Theatre. The four-level, 120,000-square-foot Ray Meyer Fitness and Recreation Center, opened in 1999, features a six-lane swimming pool, four basketball courts and weigt and fitness training space. other new facilities built since 1992 include a library, a science building and several residence halls.

    THE LOOP In the midst of Chicago's downtown business district , this campus is te site of the Colleges of Commerce and Law, the School of Computer Science, Telecommunications, and Information Systems, and the School for New Learning. The exquisitely renovated DePaul Center houses modern classrooms, high-tech student services, and a large library.

    LAKE COUNTY (LAKE FOREST) Opened in 1998, this campus includes six state-of-the-art technology-equipped classrooms, a fully networked library, a 20-station computer lab, faculty and administrative offices.

    NAPERVILLE This campus encompasses 60,000 square feet of state-of-the-art facilities, including 21 classrooms, library, bookstore, auditorium, interactive video rooms, computer equipment, and offices of adult student services.

    O'HARE (DES PLAINES) This campus offers a range of facilities, including various student services, library, computer labs and a bookstore. Trough live two-way telecasts, faculty and students interactwith classes on the Lincol Park and Loop campuses. The rapidly expanding curriculum includes certificate programs, courses and degree programs from many of the colleges and schools of the university.

    SOUTH (OAK FOREST) The substatially expanded and upgraded South Campus has networked classrooms, a 21-station computer lab and faculty offices. Offered are various bachelor's and master's courses and ceritificate programs.

  • While the second largest of the colleges and schools, class sizes average only 26 students, and half of all undergraduate classes have 20 students or less.

    The Theatre School
  • Since its founding in 1925 as the Goodman School of Drama, the School has been known as a standard of excellence for American professional theatre training.
  • The oldest theatre conservatory in the Midwest, it is considered one of the nation's best in terms of intensive, highly disciplined, practical instruction.
  • Faculty members are practicing artists; many work professionally as actors, directors, playwrites, designers, theater technicians, and managers.
    School of Music
  • Ranked among the nation's leading conservatories, the School offers six professional programs; 23 faculty members are current or retired members of the Chicago, Symphony Orchestra or the Lyric Opera Orchestra
  • Student groups include a symphony orchestra, wind and choral organizations, large jazz bands, as well as jazz combos, choirs, and chamber music groups.
  • Alumni perform world wide in opera companies, symphony orchestras, jazz and rock groups, choirs and chamber music groups.

    School for New Learning

    STUDENT/FACULTY RATIO
    16 to 1. Average Class Size is 23. Seventy-seven percent of all undergraduate clsses have fewer than 30 students.

    DEPAUL ACADEMIC CALENDAR
    College Credit is accumulated on the basis of quarter hours. The regular academic year consists of three 10 week quarters. The fourth quarter (2 summer sessions) is optional.
    Autumn Quarter September-November

    Spring Quarter March-June
    Summer Quarter Session 1 (June/July)
    Session 2 (July/August)


    A 12 quarter hour course load is sufficient to maintain full-time status. Full-time students typically take 4 classes per quarter (16 quarter hours). A minimum of 192 quarter hours is required for graduation.

    High School GPA: 3.3 (based on a 4.00 scale)
    ACT Composite: 21-26 (middle 50% score range)
    SAT V 510-610, M 500-610 (middle 50% score range)

    These are not minimum requirements. These are mean scores for 2000-2001 admitted freshman. If credentials fall below the means we will consider other factors such as high school curriculum, essays, extracurricular acrtivities and reccommendation letters.

    ADMISSION
    DePaul admits applicants on a space available basis to all University colleges and schools except Theatre and Music. We reccommend that you complete your application by February 1 2002. The application deadline for Theatre and Music is January 15, 2002. Admissions decisions will be made in Late March.

    To apply for admission do the following:
    1. Send a completed application for admission and the $35 application fee.
    First-Time Freshman, Transfer Student, Adult Student, International Student
    2. Provide official high school transcript and grades through at least 6 semesters.
    3. Send official SAT or ACT scores (Only if scores DO NOT appear on high school transcript).
    4. Have a high school counselor or teacher complete and return the reccommendation form in the admission application.
    5. Transfer applicants with 33 semester (44 quarter) hours of college work completed must have official transcripts sent from all colleges/universities attended. (If you have eared fewer than 30 semester hours, please also complete steps 1-4).
    6. Theatre and Music applicants must also schedule an audition or portfolio review/interview.


    EARLY ACTION PROGRAM
    High school seniors who wish to be considered for the Early Action Program (EAP) must apply by November 15, 2001, and will be notified of an admission decision by December 24, 2001.

    EAP applicants have the benefit of completing the DePaul Financial Aid Early Award Form and are notified of their estimated financial aid by January 15, 2002. EAP students also recieve priority academic advising and registration, as well as priority residence hall confirmation if the required application for on-campus housing and a $500 prepayment are submitted by February 15.

    Theatre and Music applicants are not eligible to participate in the Early Action Program.

    Music $20,000 per year (guaranteed for four years)

    Theatre $20,500 per year (guaranteed for four years)

    FINANCIAL AID
    In 2001-2002, nearly 67% of undergraduates recieved financail aid throug federal, state and university grants; subsidize, unsubsidized and parent loans; and work-study opportunities totaling over 499 million. For financial aid consideration, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required. FAFSAs are available after January 1, 2002 from the DePaul Office of Financial Aid, your high school guidance office, or visit the Department of Education's website at
    www.fafsa.ed.gov. It is important to complete this form as soon as possible after January 1, 2002 but no later than April 1, 2002. DePaul's Title IV code for the FAFSA is 001671.
    New Undergraduate: Freshman or Transfer, Adult Student
    MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS
    Over 1,050 academic, service, and talent scholarships are offered annually, totaling $2.5 million, are available for freshman and community college transfer students applying for the fall term.

    Some scholarship programs require additional information and/or interviews.

    Freshman Applicants:
    No seperate application form for academic scholarships is required. For academic scholarship consideration, students must submit a completed application before November 15, 2001. All scholarships are awarded by January 1st.

    Transfer applicants:
    Academically eligible community college transfer students must have completed an application for admission and a scholarship application postmarked by April 1, 2002 to be considered for scholarships.

    ACADEMIC COMPUTING RESOURCES

    DePaul University offers 800 computers in its student labs and classrooms across all campuses. Other resources include:

    Computer Labs

    Residence hall rooms equipped with personal computers and high speed Internet connections.

    Windows workstations and current software packages in student computer labs. Macs available at some locations.

    Numerous student services accessible via the Web including course descriptions, course registration, grades, financial summaries, and more.

    Supplemental web-based technologies to support student's academic careers including web-based course syllabi, class notes, online discussion groups and more.

    Optional Internet service for students who want to connect when off campus.

    Free e-mail accout issued to every student.

    RESIDENCE LIFE

    Residence Life

    Fourteen residence halls/apartments are located on the Lincoln Park campus. All are co-ed by wing or floor. Rates differ based on residence hall/apartment, type of room, meal plan, and health care fees. The average costs for room and board is $7,300 per school year. Options include:

    Traditional university residence halls: double or triple occupancy rooms with connecting or community bathrooms.

    Apatments and townhouses for upperclassmen. Occupancy ranges from 2-9 residents.

    Approximately 2,500 students live on campus. Given the limited amount of space, applicants for incoming student housing are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Students are encouraged to apply for housing as early as possible since space is limited and housing for new students is not guaranteed.

    The Lincoln Park neighborhood in which the campus is located offers some of Chicago's finest and most popular theatre, dining, and entertainment options.

    DePaul's Barat Campus also has three newly updated residence halls which house approximately 350 students. All rooms are double occupancy with community bathrooms on each floor. The average cost for room and board is $5,400 per school year. The Barat Campus is located in suburban Lake Forest--a short train ride from the city of Chicago.

    THE CAREER CENTER

    The Career Center's suite or services is designed to help DePaul students seek and secure rewarding work both during their undergraduate experience and after they have earned their degree. Students build their career related knowledge and skills; gain work experience; access a variety of professional networks and take advantage of job search services through:

    University Ministry

    University Ministry provides a broad array of programs and services designed to help students grow through out-of-classroom learning and spiritual practice. Available to all students of many faiths are:
